Q: What is Burlesque?
A: Burlesque is the art of tease, most notably strip tease. While the root of the word is based in theatrical parody it has evolved into an art form that covers a wide range of expression through various styles of movement based performance.

Q: I want to try a burlesque but I think I am too old or I don’t have a “dancer” body.
A: Burlesque is for EVERYONE! Your age, size, &/or gender will not affect your ability to learn & have fun.

Q: What do I wear to a class?
A: We suggest you wear clothing that is comfortable to move in. Heels are not required but encouraged.

Q: I want to take a class but I don’t want to take my clothes off.
A: Stripping is not required or expected in any classes. Classes may include information on how to remove garments but there is no pressure to do so.

Q: How do I become a burlesque dancer?
A: Start by going to shows & taking classes. There are several styles of burlesque and by checking out different shows/classes you will figure out what is the best fit for you. From there we suggest reaching out directly to producers about how to best get involved in a production.
